Re: Earthquake!?!
I was in Hull when there was that quake in Market Rasen around 2007/08. It woke me up and I felt the room shaking but, like someone said below,I thought I dreamed it and probably had a few beers the night before so didn't really think too much of it until I turned the TV on in the morning.

Yeah its strange the things you remember and how much they can fuck you up for years. I think there are 2 rounds if you like of shock first the initial, what the fuck is going on am i going to die , and the second which I found harder to deal with was the realization you were in a massive natural catastrophe in which 250,000 people died, probably the same in Japan every bar has a Tv and every TV was reporting the death toll as it went up by the 10s of thousands. Watching the Japanese Tsunami was horrifying, especially the helicopter coming in with the first wave

67, yeah you do get used to them but I'm suffering from post 2011 paranoia. Even little ones set me off now. I can't say they bothered me as much before.

The thing I'll always remember about the 2011 earthquake, which wasn't very long ago when you think about it, was the sound of the rock beneath my feet. It was sickening. Really creepy.

Re: Earthquake!?!
Thats how it gets bob doesn't it you get used to it. The Tsunami one woke me up in Patong, I just recognized the slow rocking in my sleep and woke up. But then I though I'm on holiday in Thailand not back in Taiwan must be a dream and went back to sleep. I was woken up a couple of hours later by some rather large drama

Had a rare one in Panang about 3 years ago, when you think how close it is to Sumatra its surprising really. My mate was staying with me for a week or so and the 18th floor condo stated rocking like fuck, ceiling fan was clanging about , he absolutely shit himself want ed to run outside , which a bad move from 18 floors

Always fun to watch. Seriously though, I sometimes sleep through them and have to ask my wife 'hey did we have an earthquake yesterday?' She just rolls her eyes.

They happen quite a lot ted but you cannot feel them, you may be surprised to know you have had 24 earthquakes in the last 50 days

Re: Earthquake!?!
4.3 magnitude is pretty big for a country not used to them. Wouldn't surprise me if there was some damage to buildings.

Ted; I'm up the the triangle so technically Kirby rather than in the gates. ;o)
